I haven’t seen any official press releases by the IFSC or IOC yet, but here and there can be read that sport climbing received it’s full Olympic recognition during an IOC meeting in Vancouver. Sport climbing at the Olympics in 2020? A debut at the 2028 Olympics in Holland would be nice!

This weekend (21-22 August) the 3th lead world cup of this season will be held in Imst, Austria. Yet another example of an architectural project from the Netherlands where a climbing facility is integrated. Arons & Gelauff Architects from Amsterdam are responsible for the design of the new campus building in Enschede, The Netherlands. Mid October the European Championship 2008 took place in Bercy stadium, Paris. I was present for work and made some pictures. I have made a small selection which gives an impression of the event. The results of this championship can be found at the ifsc website. |
