My favourite climbing brand Monkee just released their 2012 collection, a new website, and a real Monkee store. An English version of the website is coming up soon too. So if you want to order some Monkee clothing but your German is as bad as my French, just hang in there. Or answer the prize question for a chance to win a Monkee t-shirt + chalkbag!

2012 collection
The 2012 collection for men features my all time favourite climbing shirt, the Kamikaze, and a new version of the Ubwuzu pants of which I rock the short version. In the women’s collections you’ll find a crazy innovative sweater, the Jedi. The Jedi comes with a hoody that can be wrinkled around your neck and, in that way, can be used as a hoody… But! It is also a bag! … Non comprendre? Just check the pictures.

Sustainable focus
Monkee has a sustainable focus. It tries to minimize ecological impact and believes in good labour conditions. Because of this, and their small but awesome collection, they won multiple outdoor-sports industry awards and were nominated for the German design awards twice.

Shop
The new Monkee shop can be found in Nürnberg at the Bärenschanzstraße 57. It’s open from Monday until Thursday between 9:00 and 12:00.
On Thursday the shop is also open from 14:00 until 18:00.

To celebrate the 2012 collection you now have a chance to win a Monkee T + chalkbag. I’ve got one set for the men (Kamikaze T + chalkbag) and one for the women (Forrest Hand T + chalkbag).
What to do?
Send me an email with the subject: ‘I am a Monkee’. In the email you describe why you are a Monkee. This can be done by typing a great (but short) story or attaching a self made picture, or video, that says it all.
I will pick my personal favourites, one man and one woman, and they win.
Everybody can join in, it doesn’t matter where you from. You’ll get two weeks to get this done so make sure you’ll send this mail before Sunday the 1st of April (no joke). Oh and don’t forget to mention your size and address, and, if you are a man, your favourite Kamikaze T color.
